What Relax514945 likes about El Portalon:
Very high standard of setting and food/ cooking. At the higher end of the price range for around here but not extortionate and worth it if you can afford it. Wine list was good and fairly priced. I think this is the site of the old Finca de Eduardo site , which we never visited. That restaurant probably closed due to lack of footflow as the location is not ideal and hard to walk to. A friend and me decided to try a menu del dia at this restaurant before going in the evening We found it overpriced and very mediocre. Nice atmosphere but we were the only customers. A strange sweet soup served with a floating stuffed courgette. The main course was chicken in a satay sauce worthy of any of the umpteen chinese restaurants in the area, and very overpriced wine.
