"A 30-minute drive with the ferry from kirkwall to orkney and 2 minutes to foot brings it to the charming smithy and a friendly reception awaited visitor on the island shapinsay. fabulous house made sandwiches, toasties, suppen fill the hungry of the visitor. if they have space for anything else, their homemade cakes are amazing"

"We stopped by for a drink today but found it under renovation. This little hotel could be a sure winner if the rooms are redone so they are warm and damp free. The restaurant and bar areas could use a bit of an updating. We hope the works go well and look forward to their reopening!"
