Al Quadrato Resto And Pizza - Ottawa

I walked into this unassuming calzone restaurant with low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised to have the best sandwich I've had in a long time! I ordered the ciabatta press with bacon and chicken, but the owner was out of bacon and gave me an extra side for free. I went with ham, sausage, and chicken instead and received my sandwich quickly. It was delicious, flavorful, and juicy with fresh veggies like sun-dried tomatoes and spinach that had me savoring every bite. My americano was also excellent. The atmosphere on the patio was lovely and the service was friendly. I highly recommend this spot!

I recently revisited this pizzeria for the first time since before the pandemic and was disappointed to find that the pizza has completely changed. I was surprised to receive a pizza covered with an excessive amount of cheese, nothing like the authentic Italian pizza they used to serve. The sauce also tasted different, less flavorful and not as well-cooked as before. On top of that, we were informed that indoor dining was no longer allowed, so we had to sit outside on a chilly +6C day. To make matters worse, the staff were smoking cigarettes at a patio table next to us, disregarding smoke-free patio regulations. I am unlikely to come back to this restaurant again.

I absolutely adore their calzones, especially the Veggie one. The ambiance of the restaurant is fantastic and the pizza was absolutely delicious. The service was also excellent. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend this place. It is a bit on the pricier side, but definitely worth it.

Just had a great experience here! I ordered the pressed sandwich, with sausage and some very fresh veggies. The bread was amazing, the sausage was juicy and the cheese was amazing. I?m a sandwich lover and I rate this highly. Owner is also a really nice guy!

I wish I had read the reviews about the pizza before ordering. We were so excited and it was disappointing. I paid for extra toppings and didn?t realize I was paying for one extra mushroom on a pizza, I couldn?t even see the artichoke Let alone the red peppers. The dough was not even crusty and airy like pizza dough it was more like something pre made with no texture. Not bashing the place?.maybe other items on the menu are good but don?t waste your time with the pizza. The right is what I was hoping for? the photo on the left is what we got.
