"Set in the beautiful jungle bordering Palenque, this place was a real gastronomical treat. We had the 2 person sharing dish where we had a selection of local, high quality meats and locally grown organic sides. The setting is beautiful and staff very friendly who know basic English. The only downside was the lecturing of the owner, as people were trying to eat he could not help himself but interrupt to explain every element of the dish and its history. It's actually great to begin with, but became a little overbearing after a while. If the owner could just step back a little it would be almost a faultless and real Maya cuisine experience. A great experience overall though and would certainly recommend."

"Comida: la comida es excelente, preparada al momento, muchas cosas se cocinan al horno de piedra (sabor excelente) y algunas otras a la parrilla. Pregunta por los platillos que no están en el menú. Las pastas, pizzas y calzones son hechos en casa.Menú: El menú es principalmente de comida estilo Italiana, aunque tienen diversidad en el mismo. El menú de bebidas es vasto: cervezas, licores, vinos y cócteles (recomendadas las margaritas). Si tomas algo que no está en el menú puedes preguntar por el descorche.Ambiente: El ambiente es muy relajado, algo bohemio, el lugar es ideal para una cena en pareja, con familia o amigos. Los fines de semana toca un grupo en vivo cumbias, algo de música sudamericana, salsas, boleros, etc. Lo hacen muy bien y ponen buen ambiente. Al terminar el grupo ponen música en un sistema de sonido. Hay un pequeño espacio para que baile quien guste.Servicio: El servicio es muy bueno aunque si el lugar está lleno, tardan un poco en atenderte, todo el personal siempre está en la mejor disposición de ayudar y atender lo mejor posible. El personal de cocina está en la entrada y también son muy amables. Daniel nos atendió y da un excelente servicio. ¡Felicidades!Instalaciones: El lugar está situado entre la abundante vegetación de la selva, la mayor parte es un "deck" amplio volado sobre la colina, de varios desniveles y con acabados de bambú, la otra parte es al interior de la construcción dónde encontrarás uno o dos privados. Monte Verde está rodeado de árboles y tiene vista a un jardín con un pequeño arroyo.Precio: Los precios son acorde a lo que se encuentra en Palenque algunos platillos oscilan entre los $80 y $180 pesos promedio. Quizás el consumo promedio de alimentos y bebidas por persona sea de aproximadamente $300 a $500. Comentarios/Recomendaciones: llega temprano el lugar casi siempre está lleno y su estacionamiento es pequeño, así que igual se llena y no hay donde estacionarse. Al estar en la selva es recomendable llevar repelente para prevenir el ataque de mosquitos (rara vez hay).La cocina cierra 10:30.Es preferible no ir con niños, aunque no hay problema si vas con ellos.Estimados amigos de Monte Verde manténganse así, que si a Palenque vamos a Monte Verde regresamos. Saludos."
