I am not familiar with the customs here but I read that it is not compulsory to tip in France, but a tip would be appreciated nonetheless. Our bill was euros which I saw and agreed to. I paid by card and only after...swiping and signing noticed that it was charged euros. What happened here? Did he tip himself or is it common to just round up when paying by card?
