"We were lucky enough to score the last free table for their three course pre theatre sitting. The restaurant is lovely, stylishly furnished only slight downside is a spiral staircase to access the toilets which may cause problems to some with limited mobility. The complimentary starter of warm, homemade bread, lemon butter and pea dip set the tone for the meal delicious, as was the haggis, neeps tatties and cod pate starters. The coley with smoked haddock was unusual and very flavourful, as was the pork shoulder, and we fought over the hand cut chips! I had a lovely dessert of apples, elderflower ganache and gooseberry ice cream whilst my partner chose Cheddar which was eye wateringly strong! Fairly short but unusual wine list, reasonably priced. Staff were attentive, friendly and helpful, finding extra seats to allow us to join a couple with whom we had struck up a conversation. Will definitely return if we are in the area, a highlight of our trip."

"Friendly and welcoming service. Food excellently cooked and presented, maybe a bit more mash with the venison, to soak up the delicious sauce. Desserts well what can i say, yes tasty, yes plenty, yes yes, i enjoyed the dessert if that didn't come across."

"This shop is brilliant. It has a huge variety of unique, excellent quality items, many of which are made in Scotland. It has everything you could wish for from food, gifts, clothing, household items/gifts. The slate wood plaques are absolutely stunning. The restaurant is also very good. 9 of us had breakfast here. The service was excellent, staff very friendly the food was really good. When we come back to Scotland, we will definitely visit here again."

"Fantastic cakes, fantastic service and tasty too. A hidden gem indeed! Toastie was made with proper hunks of bread with decent filling, my husband's burger looked ok and my son demolished the macaroni cheese. Cakes were amazing! Looking forward to coming back!"
