I was introduced to Purdys Dockside in 2009....and it never disappoints! During lockdown we were still able to enjoy either perch or pickerel! I have introduced so many friends and family members...we all live around London so we make it a day trip! Grandma Purdys coleslaw is delish...and the fries!!! Extra delish this year...super crispy...but the star of the show is the fish....lightly battered and lightly fried...... read more.

"We are from Asheville, which is a foodie town for sure. Kate's is totally comparable to some of the fine dining in Asheville. Everything is incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, tasty. Just an amazing little cafe that prides itself on great attention to detail. Kate is friendly and watching over the business making sure everything is perfect. We had 3 breakfasts there when we were in town. We just kept going back for yet another fabulous meal. The quiche was so amazing. The crust was unusual, and the inside was creamy and delicious. Coffee is top notch. The fruit is so fresh the last morning I had to add a side of fruit. The little side salad included with some breakfasts was crisp and fresh with wonderful dressing. You have to go to Kate's!!!!"
