We attended a private party at this restaurant on Saturday night and it was one of the best party venues I've been to in a long time. The owners, Nigel and Liz, are wonderful people and the atmosphere at the pub is cozy and welcoming. The staff is hardworking and friendly. I recently went out for lunch on the weekend and was greeted by friendly staff at this restaurant. The fish and chips were outstanding, possibly the best I've ever had, and the portion size was generous. View all feedback.
Wife and I enjoyed fish and chips and lovely prawns in white wine garlic sauce. Great value at nearly half the price of some other pubs and restaurants on Poole Quay and in the Old Town. Good beers and friendly service.
Amazing Sunday dinner, and reasonably priced, definitely coming back here, also great selection of Badgers Ales
Fantastic food and atmosphere. One of the best collections of naval memorabilia I've ever seen and super friendly staff. Highly recommend the fish and chips too!
We visited on a Sunday in June 2023, having popped in around 6 months earlier for a pint just before they closed. This time we were there for opening and after checking the menu decided to try the Sunday Roast. We weren't disappointed as the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the food was out of this world. Both the Pork and Beef options came with all the trimmings you'd expect and the veg was especially delicious. Really good portion sizes too. It did get quite busy whilst we were eating, so booking ahead is probably advisable if you want to guarantee a table. But whether you're there for food or just a drink, you won't find a friendlier pub on Poole Quay.
