we were looking for a light meal, so after we had brought donuts, we went to homestead cookhouse. it is a strange masche of Canadian and Asian foods. they are.

we shared a brisket and wobble hot dog, because we were not hungry, but we would have ever bought one. yummy brisket, good dog. gets back on her.

I have to start saying that the lady on the theke was connected to the owner and she had a lot of pride at the place. she knew it and made it.

"Ok, this place is a winner. If you have the people, share the platters. I rarely say this but beginning to end was excellent. This is a must when in town. We ate everything and only the coleslaw was available to take a photo!"

"We just got back from a 2 week driving vacation to the Artic Circle and Inuvik via Dawson City. We ate every meal out and had to come back home to have the best food in 16 days. This will definitely be our new favorite place to eat in Port Alberni."

"My only complaint for this place is the hours. The only reason to go anywhere else for scrumptious donuts is the limited hours of this fabulous bakery. These donuts taste just like my mom's homemade donuts and bring back those memories of when you could eat a donut without thinking about calories ;)"

"My wife, daughter and I dined there couple of nights ago. Place was very clean and had a nice atmosphere and vibe. After a short wait we were served by a lovely older man who I believe was the owner. We settled on the Greek platter. First up came the appetizer greek salad and tzatziki with pita. All good and very fresh tasting. The main platter showed up with all the things you expect in a greek platter including the Dolmades Calamari Mousaka Greek potatoes, rice and roast lamb with a complex lamb gravy. We've eaten at many Greek restaurants over the years and this was arguably as good or better than any we have been to. Bill with a good tip and three drinks was under $100. Very impressed."
