"Didn't stay at hotel wish I had now. Called in on the off chance for food. No problem took me to a table and quickly came with the menu. I chose the burger with chips and onion rings. It was served after about 15 minutes although it didn't seem very big. Boy it was filling I had trouble finishing it. Then the waitress asked if I would like a sweet. I said Could you give me a moment which she did. About 15 minutes later I was served the dateline and ice cream cake. Bit like a Christmas cake. It was mouth watering and to die for. All in all I was there for an hour an three quarters. Food was piping hot and at a reasonable price. I left the young waitresses a tip which they seemed surprised at. Doesn't anyone tip for good service anymore. Would wholeheartedly recommend the islay hotel if your in the area"
