"I had the chance to try the While spending the afternoon in Port Hope with my family, we came across this great restaurant near the East Side Beach. Following COVID 19 Guidelines, they only offered outdoor seating. Both in a sit down dining option on dishware, and in a takeout at the picnic tables option. I think the main difference was that on the official patio, there is a seat capacity. We had a group of 5 so we were only able to sit at the picnic tables. After taking a look at their menu, we decided to go with: Demeter Black bean burger add the chipotle mayo Dionysus Build Your Own Beef Burger Dionysus Build Your Own Chicken Burger Kid's Burger Build Your Own Veggies on a Bun The ordering process was quick and efficient, it really only took 15min for our order to be ready. the staff were also so kind and friendly and very willing to accommodate our requests. I ordered the Beef burger but got the chance to try both the Chicken Burger the Black Bean Burgers. All three were delicious, but there were a few things I wasn't expecting. If you ask for lettuce on your burger, you will get mixed greens instead. It was slightly disappointing to not have some crunchy cool lettuce, but not a deal breaker. If you pay extra for the cheddar cheese, it will be shredded cheese melted on to the bun not a slice. The Kids Burger is tiny, if you ever order the kids burger, be aware that it's really small, it's essentially the size of a slider. A great option for kids but not the best choice for someone looking for a snack. Lastly, if you're a fan of very well done fries, you will love theirs, but if not, I would suggest asking for lightly done fries. We got a few orders of fries and they were really well done, we went back to the counter to ask about them, and they gladly offered us some complimentary replacement fries. They were so great! They are these great thick cut home made fries that you just can't stop eating. A few Pro Tips: They also have a Secret Menu which can be found on their website in the drop down menu Pop is bottomless, so you can get quite a few refills. They also have a Yelp Check In Offer! I definitely recommend checking it out"

"Amazing - we tried the Schnitzel Shack for the first time and we cannot say how impressed we were. At first the food was stellar, but the two amazing ladies in the kitchen are even more fantastic. Everything was made fresh....Note that you should be ready to wait a little for FRESH FOOD, especially when they are busy they are because it is great BUT it is definitely worth waiting!. Portions are amazing, food is delicious and the price is right. It is wonderful to be able to support a smaller institution that works so hard to make things special for its community. Thank you for the amazing dinner and memories"

"Good fried food and bbq meats. Also serves scooped ice cream. We first tried it on a Thursday night around 6pm which was during the dinner rush and wait time after you order was 30-45 mins. They do give you a wireless device that vibrates to notify you when your order is ready which is handy while waiting in your car. The food was good so we returned a few weeks later during the day when it wasn't as busy and had great service. The potato wedges are something special, highly recommend trying them."

"While visiting a friend who lives in Port Hope, a trip to Doo Doo's was planned. We placed an order in advance as apparently product sells out rapidly. The buttertarts were delicious. The crust was flakey and tasty, and the filling was thick and in...the case of the raisin variety (my favorite) loaded with plump juicy raisins. We also bought some of their tasty sausage rolls. There are so many other varieties of baked goods that another visit is in order...soon"
