"Couldn’t have found a more lovely place for a family meal-wish we’d found The Ivy house earlier…We were greeted like family members, you can feel yourself relaxing instantly, the whole vibe of the place is chilled, intimate and so welcoming. The menu isn’t large, which, personally is a great thing, food was fresh, beautifully presented, delicately flavoured to bring out the best of what you were eating. There’s a fantastic chilled lounge next door, all Indian rugs, lanterns, cushions and lights..half open to the elements…unfortunately it was a bit too chilly to sit there when we went, but can imagine that it’s wonderful on a warm Summers evening….It’s definitely n o t designer, thank goodness, but if you like something a bit different, with amazing food, then go! There’s plenty of parking, just an all round brilliant place..Thank you so much for such a happy evening."

"We had a fabulous meal here yesterday evening for my husband's birthday, with our two children. The food was great, found it difficult to choose what to eat, as such a lovely menu- the scallops were amazing. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and particularly accommodating as my son has a severe nut allergy. Will definitely book again when we are next down in Cornwall."

"A beautiful environment with magnificent views of the coast. Sit inside and outside and gluten-free veggie options, which is a pleasant surprise. It was a stir between a gf toasties or a frit. The Friatta ran it with a selection of garlic mushroom or bride and spinach. Nicely presented and very tasty. The service was very fast and friendly staff."

"We stopped here for lunch on the way back from the bodmin wenford steam train; it felt a bit like a magic mysteries tour, but the sat nav led us to a beautiful pub in a stunning location. excellent food service. I had the whispers, my man had the fish goujons, my father the (enormous! pork chop, my daughter sink, egg chips and my son the steak chips. everyone was thrilled what I think could be a first! highly recommended."

"Lovely little seafood stop after a long coastal walk. Fresh seafood caught locally and served in an uncomplicated way. Dog friendly : Decent drinks selection and a food menu that will make it hard to choose. Lobster and crab open sandwich £19 had a very generous amount of both on there and food value for money down to this. Lacked a little in seasoning personally but we added some of the sea salt and pepper available to our tastes. Some lovely local goods to purchase in the shop too and cakes if you aren’t full yet! Didn’t try any Excellent customer service, friendly and helpful. The thing I was most impressed about was on buying some mackerel pate and dressed crab to take home I was asked if I had far to travel and was I able to keep it cold/did I need a bag of ice? I’ve bought fresh seafood many times and not once have I been asked this question. Many obliviously buy fresh seafood and travel with it for hours or leave it in a warm car just not thinking about how it should be stored to keep it safe. As a food professional this is always top of my agenda . I was really impressed. Small things make a huge difference. Would return. "Released on May 20, 2015 by samphireandsalsify I had not had much luck with nathan outlaw restaurants: although I really want to love them, apart from an incredible meal in his two star-eponymous restaurant in cornwall, they never quite deliver. Outlaw’s at the capital played it much too safe and mariners at rock was just a bit strange. Michelin-starred Outlaw’s fish kitchen is based on scenic port isaac that they can recognize as a home of itvs doc martin. it is a charming, picturesque restaurant (with the smallest toilet in the world), but the six of us felt terrible on our small table. my Gentleman companion and I sat in/on the windowboard that a strange...read more"
