This is the the best place for budget sushi in Portland. They are very busy so nothing sits long. The staff is competent and polite but very busy so don't expect a five star dining experience if you done in, just one of the best values in Portland. The salmon nagiri is especially good there. What Mary Lou R doesn't like about Sushi Ohana:
Nothing wrong with this place for a quick and relatively cheap meal. The place is clean, the folks are pleasant and the sushi- belt experience is interesting and fun. And, nothing wrong with the sushi, not particularly to my taste, too much goop over the rolls but perfectly palatable. My partner really liked the tempura. So nice, middle of the road food- but it's not fine dining or particularly great fish. So quick a... View all feedback.
Ohana is amazing at what it is: A no-frills budget friendly sushi conveyer belt and take out staple. I think we have eaten here 15+ times in the past year, and every time we want to branch out and eat elsewhere, we always return to this place. It's cheap, the fish is solid for the price, and the service is easy/quick. This is not the place to take a sushi snob or a high-maintenance friend. This is the place to go when you are starving with a hankering for salmon nigiri or a spicy tuna roll and you don't want to spend $50+ per person to walk away still a little hungry. It's good for solos or couples because everything is 2 pieces of nigiri or a 4 piece half roll so you can get a large variety without a large group. You can show up here in sweat pants, sweaty after gym class, or on a quick lunch break. You will eat until you are convinced you could enter a competitive eating championship, and win, and then you still would have only probably spent $30 a person (maybe not even). It's made sushi an affordable weekly reality, and I'm so happy about it. Don't expect 5 star service, but you can also order whatever you want to order off the regular menu and they will bring it. I also LOVE this place for carry out or delivery.
While I was in Portland, I was looking for a quick bite before heading home to my brother's. My palate was looking for sushi and one of my favourite place to go was in Cancouver WA and I definitely didn't want to drive all the way up there. So I searched fir the nearest sushi place and honestly it was overwhelming since I was in downtown PDX and the list was too long to look. I decided to check the first three and decided on the closest one, you guessed right! I enjoyed my time and loved the hefty serving. It satisfied my sushi craving for sure. I shall visit again next time I fly into Portland.
So good. Have gone here for years. Very reasonably priced and delicious. Wish they still had their 11 o'clock happy hour for lunch, but overall a great spot.
This is our go-to spot for sushi delivery and we like it a lot. Prices are very reasonable and food is good. Can't speak to the service as we've never dined in, but I highly recommend for reasonably priced good sushi.
Good price for conveyor belt sushi. We ordered a lot of sushi and it all came very fast.
