"It is a shame that the vegan items are not marked on the menu as they have a rather decent selection... ask your server; they are very knowledgeable. I had the red curry, but with extra vegetables instead of the fish. It was great. Other options are vegan mofongo, tostones, hummus, pasta, amarillos, salad (I think they had a few more options, but I can't remember). Gluten-free is completely marked in the menu. Happy Hour is 11 12:30 and 4:30 6pm $4 for certain cocktails!"

"The service was really bad, we had a server that did not speak Spanish and she spilled a whole drink on my sister and said not sad or offer at least to compose. the burger was not very impressive and the juices are not natural, they are super sugary and rough the crisp were ok, but the veggieburger is an acquired taste. Overall, eating was in order, but next time I bring my own food to vieques or make it a trip to finca victoria if I wish overpriced vegan meals."

"This was our favorite place for sabao. It was so delicious! They have a really great menu of sandwiches and other things, but we only got whole loaves from there. The bread is amazing!"

"We originally booked to stay at El Blok in June and post Maria were unsure if we should still travel. Having managed to contact Laine, we decided to still travel to Vieques and were so glad that we did. Laine, Yary and the team at El Blok are an exceptional group of people and have clearly been a cornerstone for the local community and those volunteers who have travelled to Vieques to help figure out the endless issues facing the island. Vieques is a truly special, rare island and El Blok is a very special hotel. Vieques has been battered and bruised but the overwelming response we had from everyone we talked to is “we need people to come and visit”. I hope we get to visit the island again very soon."

"We had the tofu satay — it’s sautéed in a peanut sauce and served with French fries. And from the other side of the kitchen (they serve BBQ and sushi) we had two delicious veggie rolls. Their “eel sauce” is actually just sweet soy sauce they told us. They have tofu, veggies, tempura, it’s all really amazing. Great drinks and a really cool atmosphere too. They grow a bunch of food just below in a farm visible from the patio!"
