We went to this place on our first night in Quebec. Rue Saint Joseph offers a lot of nice bars and restaurants. It was pretty busy on a Friday night but we were able to get a table for 2. Perfect! We went for the suggestion menu, 4 courses including a glass of wine and a coffee. Very good value for money. The food was really good. The only disadvantage was that the time between the courses was a bit to short. Before... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about District Saint-Joseph:
I liked the ambiance and the beer. The staff were friendly however, the waitress confused the orders, even though she had taken notes when we ordered, and our order was a real mess. My steak was quite pink even though I had ordered a well-done and she brought some of the appetizers at the end of our meal. View all feedback.
District wouldn’t be my first recommendation but itd be in the top 20. I was a bit disappointed when i paid 20$ for a burger that was not so impressive, it felt like I was eating some burger from a cafeteria dinner. I know thats a bit harsh but it felt like that, not so impressive plates, BUT I may be wrong, the other meals could have been great!
Our AirBNB condo was very close to the top end of the street so we stumbled onto Saint-Joseph area mostly be accident. Lots of restaurants and shops to choose from that we have recommended in our other Tripadvisor reviews. Not as big or fancy as say Sainte-Jean area, but we had as many good times in this zone as over there. Visit Bati Bassak for some great Thai food while there!
We were invite to Roxanne Burns' album launch on thur June 14 and we were very pleased in what we found here. Excellent food with gluten free and vegan choices as well as outstanding presentation and service. Our waitress Joelle was amazing and very attentive . Our whole group had an amazing expierience !!!!
It's a nice place with eclectic decor. The service was really fast and the food excellent. They don't have many choice of food, but everything seems to be excellent. We were 8 people and eveyone really appreciate the quality of the food. Also the service was so fast ! It's a perfect place to go with colleague for lunch.
Arriving in Quebec City late on the coldest night of the year, we had to find a restaurant quick, and stumbled into District Saint Joseph, the first place we found that was open. On a normal night we would never have gone in (plank tables, huge bar, stage for live music – not our thing but let me tell you , we were very, very pleased that we did! The food was fresh and well prepared, and there was a surprising choice, from traditional boudin to fish tacos and bison steaks. This wasn’t “bar food” but top notch cuisine. Service was prompt and friendly, and noise level was reasonable (but there was no live music at the time . The place seemed to be full of regulars. Exhausted from a long day of travel, we took comfort and warmth from the really delicious food. We decided then and there that we were going to love Quebec. Note: we like quiet, calm restaurants. People who enjoy live music, lively crowds and party atmosphere will LOVE this place and seriously, the food is excellent!
