"I felt really bad because the cafe was closed and I just happened to meet the owner. She offered to make me breakfast for which I am very grateful. The bread is made here and she roasts her own coffee. If you find yourself travelling through Sandspit you have to support this business!!"

"This is a really nice local coffee shop in Skidegate. You have a lovely view of the bay. They bake all of their goodies in the store. When we arrived, they had just taken cinnamon buns out of the oven...who could resist that! Nice healthy selection of coffee and teas. They offer breakfast and lunch, and they do a take out service. Well worth a visit."

"After a magnificent, long day exploring Gwaii Haanas by Zodiac, a steaming bowl of authentic miso soup, tasty negitoro maki, and a delicious plate of seafood yakisoba was a fine ending to another magical day on Haida Gwaii. "Excellent service! First time travelling to Haida Gwaii with my girlfriends and was craving Asian cuisine. We ordered the hot sour soup and beef broccoli dish to share. Vegetables were fresh and meat was juicy and tasty. Especially loved the salt pepper prawns! Have to say that the food was delicious and owner was super friendly and even recommended places to explore on the island and things to do. Will definitely visit again!"

"I'm not sure why people expect a remote island Resturant to be like Vancouver eatery.....The OV has good food excellent pizza and pasta and calamari. Staff is friendly but people need to relax and enjoy.... if you have to wait it's ok it got a great view of the harbour We ate there 3 times during our 8 day trip and enjoyed each time"

"As this was right next door to our accomodation and the pizza place had run out of pizza, this was our next choice. BAD choice. Service was prompt but our meals arrived on a pyrex pie plate - oodles and oodles of the driest noodles ever! I had ordered ginger beef, my husband the garlic chicken and our grand- daughter got a vegetarian plate on noodles. Hers was the only one with any moisture or sauce. The fellow sitting across from us got a pyrex plate full of rice and some deepfried meat. We all left more than half on our plates. Prices were high- as is common on the island, but we would be willing to pay the price if the food was edible. The general upkeep on the restaurant is lacking, nothing about the place made us want to linger!"

"Not only is this in a beautiful location but it is by far one of the best places to eat on Haida Gwaii. It is set in the Kaay Museum and Centre. The food is served on a wooden plank and is creatively presented. It is hard to decide what to have. And do save room for dessert, you won't be disappointed."
