The food here is surprisingly good and the server is very attentive. I'm glad that the locals recommended this place to me and my girlfriend.
The food was good.... unfortunately I got food poisoning 3 times in a row here now and was SEVERELY sick : I hope the kitchen just needs cleaning....

"This is a really nice local coffee shop in Skidegate. You have a lovely view of the bay. They bake all of their goodies in the store. When we arrived, they had just taken cinnamon buns out of the oven...who could resist that! Nice healthy selection of coffee and teas. They offer breakfast and lunch, and they do a take out service. Well worth a visit."

"I'm not sure why people expect a remote island Resturant to be like Vancouver eatery.....The OV has good food excellent pizza and pasta and calamari. Staff is friendly but people need to relax and enjoy.... if you have to wait it's ok it got a great view of the harbour We ate there 3 times during our 8 day trip and enjoyed each time"

"After a magnificent, long day exploring Gwaii Haanas by Zodiac, a steaming bowl of authentic miso soup, tasty negitoro maki, and a delicious plate of seafood yakisoba was a fine ending to another magical day on Haida Gwaii. "Not only is this in a beautiful location but it is by far one of the best places to eat on Haida Gwaii. It is set in the Kaay Museum and Centre. The food is served on a wooden plank and is creatively presented. It is hard to decide what to have. And do save room for dessert, you won't be disappointed."

"As the previous reviewer stated, this is not a restaurant and shouldn't be reviewed as one. It is, however, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to push your personal boundaries a bit and try things that you've never had before. Who knows, herring roe might be your new favourite thing (I loved it). You are welcomed into Keenawii's (Roberta's) home and after a blessing, and if you're lucky, a beautiful song by one of her family members, the dining begins. From the appetizer right through to the dessert, you experience so many wonderful tastes. I never thought I would enjoy venison, but only because I'd "heard" that it was tough and gamey. Not this. The deer that are so plentiful on Haida Gwaii are obviously much more tender and tasty than their mainland cousins. Everything was delicious.Our dinner companions were friendly and interesting. We loved that we could bring our own wine.The memories we made that night at Keenawii's is one that we will cherish forever. When we come back to Haida Gwaii (WHEN ... not IF), we will definitely be returning.Reservations are a must and the food focus is very much seafood, in case this is an issue for you. Remember, though, that it is a traditional Haida meal."

"We enjoyed a wonderful evening dining with the Kings. They met us at the door with a glass of complimentary sangria and an opportunity to chat with the other guests then we moved indoors to separate tables to enjoy the fabulous food. Multiple courses of elegant food with a choice between two entrees and two desserts. You may bring your own bottle of wine if you wish."

"Queen B's is about the only real choice for a casual coffee in "downtown" Queen Charlotte. It has a great location overlooking the water. It is about 100 m off the highway on the parallel 'business street'. Don't expect luxury. It's a little rundown around the edges, but in an endearing sort of way. Think a mix of eastern Buddhism and 1960s hippies."
