"A special night out with friends who lived nearby, and they chose this place as truly representative of both local culture and cuisine. The highlights here are location right on a small river, beside gardens and a schloss, plus their emphasis on fish. Where today can you get fresh river caught wild trout, done up in any number of styles, including 'trout blau ' traditional steamed fish that really does look a bit blue in hue. The menu of course goes beyond fish, and their mixed antipasto plate was devoured in seconds. A big list of top notch wines, many from Switzerland. Our group of five ALL had no complaints, and my sole one was the price tag, as I picked up the bill. 60 Swiss francs/person is expensive even by Western European standards, but then Switzerland is expensive, period. Worth a visit. About 15 minutes north of Bern central"

"We ate with friends on the terrace at Bellevue in sunny weather. The terrace is beautifully shaded. The wait staff were friendly and the service was fairly quick. I had a salad and lasagna. The lasagne was nice and hot (not to be taken for granted) and tasted good. It just kind of had a charcoil flavor to it. Possibly it was baked in a wood oven possible. As a wine we chose a Barolo. It was delicious and the temperature was top notch! The price of the food was within the expected range lasagne CHF 22.80, the Barolo at CHF 85 too (Barolo is usually more expensive). By the way, my friends were very satisfied with their food. PS The restaurant is slightly outside of Bern. Worth a visit for locals . As a tourist, I would rather choose a restaurant that is a little closer to the city center. The 4 points I give are rather generous. But 3 points would not be enough.
