Should have mentioned Swales Cafe years ago. This family run business is home from home for a lot of Clitheroe folk and the family always make my partner Carol and I most welcome. The food is excellent and the service is second to none. Would recommend the pie, peas and gravy scrumptious. All in all a great atmosphere and cheap as chips excuse the pun!! read more.

"I’m begrudgingly writing this review, as once you have been it’s the kind of place you want to be your best kept secret!! From the moment you step through the door you’re met by a young vibrant, enthusiastic (but not over the top) team. The menu is perfectly balanced and not overwhelming. We were lucky enough to be sat downstairs close to the well organised hustle and bustle of the kitchen, the atmosphere was great. Every dish that left the kitchen looked amazing. Just for the record I shared the mushrooms and Calamari for starters and had the Lamb kebabs.. all of which were amazing. Congratulations to all involved in this venture you have delivered an unpretentious friendly dining experience, which leaves you wanting to come back for more. The only downside to the venue is that I don’t live close enough!!"
