Little Nickel - Richmond

That was our second time here and we really enjoyed it both times. The Peach PK cocktail was great as well as the coconut shrimp roll and the Hawaiian pork shell.

This is a cute Mexican/Hawaiian restaurant. I didn't make reservation so it was about 30mins wait time that we wanted to sit inside. They have two outdoor space but it's not great for a hot summer. They took down the name and phone number so you can go walk around or get a drink at the bar. When I arrived I saw everyone taking boxes of food when they left thought they were just here for take outs. But actually it's because all the portions are huge at this place. I had the crab Spaghetti I swear it could feed 4 adults. I ate some and pack a whole box and still have a lot left in the bowl. It's a bit of waste to be honest, no one can ever finish the bowl. The nacho is very nice and good flavor, but it's still also very huge portion for appetizer. Service is great, the hostess is very friendly and our waiter is also very attentive.

A friend of ours recommend this place and it was definitely worth it! We ordered the Hawaiian Nachos (which was absolutely delicious), General Tso’s Wings (really really delicious), and the Lamb Shank Tacos (tbh this was just okay. I just wished it had more flavor. I think I’ll try out other food instead). I also got the Cosmic Love but I honestly didn’t find anything special about the drink. Overall, the vibes and the service is great. We will definitely be visiting to try out their other food!

Beautiful front terrace with some high power fans. You allow dogs if you have 1 and like to take with you. The server even brought out a water bowl for him! I have the Calamari and lamb cheese steak. Both were super good! Would definitely come back when in the area.

I love the funky, tropical decor in this stylish, intimate neighborhood diner-like restaurant. Parking is in the back. Outside the restaurant helps to make the steady flow of customers who make Little Nickel so popular. Interior seats can be at cozy, retro vinyl-padded stands, tables or at the counter/bar. The food is excellent and size part is amazingly generous. We all loved our entrées, but hardly made a dent in them. I had the lamb cheese steak w thin crispy pommes, the other satina salad and chicken bowl. We agreed that we would come back and maybe share the Entrée and still have a lot.
