Had a great brunch today! Got the buttermilk pancakes and the shakshuka. Very vegetarian friendly and kind staff. We greatly enjoyed our experience here. The upper floor was a wonderful place to sit at. As some of us were students, we also received a discount (since it was during the week) very nice! Would definitely recommend! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Handlebar Café And Kitchen:
Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The place looked really nice and was decorated very nicely. We came for brunch but the food a bit bland. The coffee wasn't very good, quite acidic. It was a bit disappointing considering I'd heard so much about it. If we go again, hopefully it will be better : View all feedback.
Perfect atmosphere, less busy than other cafés nearby, great food. Real plants in the decor which makes a huge difference. Everybody’s plates looked generous and delicious. I asked my fish burger to be served with salad instead of fries, it was delicious. Adjacent bike shop could come in handy.
Quirky hipster café. The food was truly amazing, and the service was good and fast. It's a great place to have brunch or lunch in Oxford; will definitely go back! The toilet needs a bit of work done to it though, it was quite tatty and the toilet seat was lose... Try to go early or be prepared to wait because it is very popular with students and tourists!
Tucked away but vibrant in colour, the little restaurant provided a rather small menu choice, but delicious and hearty portions. The avocado and egg bagel was well flavored and as you can see, packed full with egg mayo, rocket and avocado. The rice was slightly underwhelming with an undercooked texture, but the flavours still packed a punch. The staff were very lovely and welcoming, creating a homely atmosphere. Would visit again.
Whenever I go there it's always very busy, and they have vegan options, so I assumed it'd be really delicious and worth the wait. I paid £7 for a vegan tartare. I was curious to see what they do to make vegan tartare. I paid £7 for a raw, chopped up courgette. It looked pretty, but the entire thing was about 30 calories (fewer than in my coffee). I can't believe they really sell this as a lunch option, it's just nowhere near substantial enough. This was not envisioned by a maniac who doesn't care at all about giving a properly nutritional vegan option. It gets 2 stars because my friend had a very enjoyable non-vegan breakfast, and because the coffee was nice, if very small.
Fresh ingredients, great vegan and vegetarian options, nice staff and chill vibe. Fair prices. Perfect for brunch.
