From England, for us, the Bay of Islands and particularly Russell, is one of our favourite places. The Duke of Marlborough sits firmly at the top of our list of favourite Hotels here. Food drinks: What’s going on? Totally mediocre food. I had Snapper and chips. Peas were tasteless, dry and inedible. How hard is it to buy sweet baby peas. Fish was also flat tasting. Chips stodgy and included blackened pieces. Hubby’s burger was very underwhelming for $30. I could literally cook better at home. Was left waiting to be seated in a fairly empty restaurant.
