Blue Mound was recommended to us for breakfast on our recent trip to Saginaw. I would have never thought there was such a small town feel cafe with good, home cooking in the city like that, but omg y’all amazing! From the warm welcome when we walked in the door, to the above and beyond service from our waitress, Shannon, to the awesome breakfast and with small town pricing! Just amazing. Found another gem today. Loved the food, it was so good. Breakfast, lunch and dinner options! Lots of parking and there was no waiting time to be seated. Ya'll have to check it out
This place is great! We were in Fort Worth for a wedding and needed to find a place to get breakfast brunch on a Sunday and this place hit the spot! This is a great diner type place with friendly staff that make food well and in a timely manner. Theyhad desserts that looked amazing but we were too full from our brunch to have any. Bummer! If we're ever back in this part oftown to grab a bite to eat, we'll definitely return. Recommended for families with kids and couples alike.
Service was wonderful. Food was hot. Generous portions. Chicken fried steak was yummy.
When I walked in I was greeted with smiling faces and a warm hello. The atmosphere feels warm and inviting. This can be your early morning breakfast, your afternoon stop, and even now your home cooked dinner place. The cleanliness was top notch. This isan open style restaurant where you do not feel cramped or going to be in someones way. Everything was homemade and baked freshdaily from their specials to the delicious pies. The wait staff was amazing as well as the management. They really make you feellike a family member. I ordered the #3 Ceelee Rae which was 2 eggs, hash browns, bacon or sausage and a choice of toast orbiscuit and gravy. This food was awe inspiring the warmth of the biscuit and gravy was mouth watering. The eggs cooked to myliking. The hash browns and bacon was nice and crispy. This meal is a favorite. I want to go back for more and if my stomachwould allow it I would eat the WHOLE menu. When I mean this is a MUST try you should have already been there when I started thisreview.
This is the old Dixie House. Now Blue Mound Cafe. They also have the old Dixie House on Belknap St. Has the flavor of the 50's to 70's diners. You feel right at home. Shelia was our server, excellent. Barbara Ann was cashier and a hoot. We enjoyed adelicious breakfast. It was served quickly and hot. Prices are good. Going back to try the afternoon special, chicken fried steakand the pies. What dining out should be. Took my wife back Monday for the chicken fried steak special. The steak was real meat, not some frozen patty. French fries were home fries. Excellent meal.
