"Really pleasant restaurant. Cosy feel downstairs seating around 15 and a few more tables upstairs so worth booking, which we did. Nice choice of half a dozen of each course plus 5 or so mountain standards: fondue, raclette etc. Moderate wine list from €20 upwards, we had a nice bottle of Vacqueyras for €28 and a very drinkable 50cl Flacon of white. Food really nicely presented, tasty and fresh. Had the cafe Gourmand dessert which came with 5 small versions of the other desserts and was delightful. Service was friendly and helpful, helps if you have a bit of French but still go if you don’t. Bill for 4 with two courses and including wine just under €200. Recommend."

"The restaurant le refuge is a very pleasant place. we had lunch on the terrace, in the sun, and we chose the classic Savoyard-Fondue: it was excellent and generous, there is no crumb left. the service is very pleasant, fast and smiling. "We stayed here last week for one night on our road trip through the French Alps. If we had time we would have loved to extend our stay for or extra nights; what a lovely place. You will have to leave your car at the village car park. From there it is a pleasant stroll through the narrow streets of the village to the Auberge (you better travel light). Once in the Auberge the joy starts. The views into the valley of the Tinée River from both our room and the dining room are marvellous and overwhelming. And then the food. Chef, and owner, Deborah is a real talent and she surprised us with a dinner. Every dish was a piece of art at its own. Also the breakfast is not the ordinary French one. We were surprised with pancakes, grapefruit and fresh baked bread. So, in my opinion, this place is worth a detour. Thank you Deborah and staff for making our stay unforgettable."
