Fox's Pizza Den - Saint Simons Island

This local pizza establishment is located in a well known strip mall on St Simons Island Ga. While pizza shops come and go on the island, this pizza joint has been around for decades, and for good reason. The ingredients are fresh and they make a decent pie pretty simple. They do have indoor dining think cafe without a lot of table service but they do a very brisk take out business. Either way, this is a great local stop for some fast food.

Hubby and I took a long weekend recently, spending Saturday and Sunday at St. Simons. As we were staying at Home2Suites nearby, I had a list of restaurants. None of them were open on Sunday. I don't have a problem with that, but when you are away from home you gotta eat somewhere, and one of the spots not on my list was Fox's Pizza Den, which was open for take out and dine in. This is a smallish restaurant in a strip mall near the Winn Dixie. Parking was plentiful. We were greeted warmly, given our choice of seats, and the food was just fine. Hubby got a slice with a list of his preferred toppings (which was actually two smaller slices, but adequate) while I got a slice of pepperoni plus a salad. Gourmet? Nope, but I wasn't expecting that. As there were only a few employees, it wasn't fast, but it wasn't slow, either. We ate there because they were open when others were not, but I would dine at Fox's Pizza Den again.

Average pizza with above average prices. Dine in is available but seating is limited. Take out available also. Pizza toppings were decent but sauce and crust were nothing special.

I called for delivery, ordered medium pie 2 toppings and a 2 liter soda and cinnamon sticks.I usually get cinna sticks and they are a pretty good size. This one was so small and hardly any cinnamon and charged me 10 bucks. Pizza is always good ordered a medium pie 14.00 2 toppings 3 bucks. 2 liter coke 6 BUCKS and has a 3 dollar delivery charge . I didn’t see the 3 dollar delivery charge andI gave him 8.00 tip. I could have went out to dinner for what it cost me. I’m on a fixed income just can’t afford a pizza and dessert and a bottle of sofa anymore. Won’t be ordering at Fox’s anymore. Shameful
