What Jennifer Moffitt likes about Cafe Madeleine:
Bright, cheerful pastry shop and cafe conveniently located near Union Square and Powell BART station. Nice selection of classic European style cakes and pastries. I had the marjolaine, a delicious confection of layered hazelnut meringue, vanilla buttercream, and bittersweet chocolate. The are a couple tables with some chairs out front for those rare days when it's warm enough to sit outside and relax. View all feedback.

Staff was super nice and cheerful from start to finish. I didn’t know that such a brief encounter could brighten up my day. Coffee is great too

"Maybe Im missing something, but the food I received today was really awful. The soup was really bland, but tart, if that makes any sense. The Coconut Black Rice Pudding was flavorless and gluey you could probably sink a body to the bottom of the ocean with that dish. Big Bowl of Berries looked fine, but it wasnt big at all and it was just a side dish no way I can last a day on a small bowl of berries. I like to taste my food and I like to know what to expect when I order in, so Jane is probably not the eatery for me. What an expensive lesson."
