"Visited with my elderly mum who has mobility difficulties. We had had a very difficult and slightly traumatic day and my mum and I desperately needed a sit down and a cup of tea and something to eat as we'd had to miss lunch as...well. We managed to park pretty much right outside as my mum has a blue badge, although there is parking for anyone for 30 mins. Not long but maybe enough for a cuppa and cake! The staff were very welcoming and friendly and extremely thoughtful and assured us that it would be fine to get a sandwich and a pot of tea even though it was 3.30 when we got there and they closed at 4pm. The food was lovely and fresh and the cake very good and we loved the way it was served on vintage china and a lovely proper tea pot with loose leaf tea. The tea was very good and plenty of it. They could not have been more helpful and considerate and definitely went the extra mile for us. Poppy's is a really lovely and beautifully decorated tearoom with some gorgeous vintage pieces as well as small gifts and cards. We felt it was a really special place with lovely people and lovely food and we will definitely be back now we've found it! Thank you to them for giving us a happy end to what had been a very challenging day for us."

"Went early on Saturday evening, the owner was very friendly , my partner and myself were both impressed with the quality and presentation of the food. We had pate and garlic mushrooms for starter which weee both homemade and lovely. My partner chose Steak for his main which was tender and cooked perfectly, accompanied by chips and all the trimmings. I had the lamb shank with mash and fresh vegetables which was absolutely delicious ! Looking forward to returning for the Sunday lunch sometime soon."

"I don't normally write reviews but felt the need this time. I was driving past the chippy and thought I would get fish and chips. I'm so glad I did. It was the best fish and chips I have had in a long time. Fish was cooked to perfection and the batter was not to greasy and really tasty. Even the amount of salt and vinegar was spot on. Most chippies now a days give you 3 grains of salt and a drop of vinegar. If I'm ever driving past I will definitely pop back in. It's just a shame I live 60 miles away"

"Oh my word! Just lovely food tonight. Why haven’t we found you sooner? Total convert. The Saag paneer, gosh, I’d be happy to drown in that! Even the papadums seem lighter and creamier than elsewhere. Anyhow, brill and will be revisiting."
