"Wir haben dort sonntags zu Mittag gegessen. Das Personal war freundlich, das Essen wurde zügig serviert. Das Wiener Schnitzel war ausgezeichnet paniert! Das Angebot ist typisch für ein regionales Wirtshaus, außer einem Gulasch konnte ich aber leider kein Rindfleischgericht auf der Karte entdecken. Die Preise sind moderat.Leider war die Luftqualität äußerst mangelhaft. Man betritt das Lokal in den Raucherbereich, von wo es weiter nach hinten in den Nichtraucherbereich mit anschließendem Zugang zur Küche geht. Der Raucherbereich war verraucht und im Nichtraucherbereich hat es sehr stark aus der Küche, deren Tür meist offen stand, gerochen - hauptsächlich nach Fett. Hätte uns nicht der Hunger zum Bleiben gezwungen, wir hätten uns eine Alternative gesucht. Schade, denn wenn die Lüftung - die ja sichtbar vorhanden ist - ordentlich in Betrieb wäre, könnte man sich dort recht wohl fühlen."

"Excellent food, all beers excellent, two need to be pointed out especially: the brown beer following the bohemian style, which is not so common in Austria, and the midium, the first lager style beer with less than 4% alcohol I ever drank, that was really good, no reason to drink a stronger beer. You visit Freistadt you have to go there. Unfortunately I found out too late, that they serve starting at 6 p.m. a second unfiltered beer called Kellerbier from a wooden cask so I cannot comment on this highly interesting beer. The only point of discomfort was to find out that after consuming 7 beers, two starters, and two main courses, they also charged the tap water. Do not get me worng, I do not complain that the price was in general too high, for this quality there is no reason to charge less, but a few decades ago in Austria it was the standard to serve tap water automatically as a free addition to beer or wine, a sensable tradiotion, whichis widely lost, but charging tap water, if the customer does consume a decent amount of food and drink, is not at all accaptable, therefore no chance of a fifth star. Sorry!"
