"On our last day in Oberau we ventured up to this place, used to be easily accessible when the old T-bar lift was working, now it is quite a steep walk. The outside of the building does not convey the charm of the interior. Well worth the walk, but beware if the flag is not flying it may not be open."

"This is without a doubt a really traditional restaurant with delicious food. Lovely staff and beautiful surroundings. Deserves a 5 star. However they allow dogs and there was a huge dog next to our table. I am not a dog person and felt quite uncomfortable with it next to us - therefore the 4 stars."

"A wonderful place to have a great breakfast and a morning coffee before a hike! I really recommend Cafe 172. Excellent coffee, fresh cake and delicious eggs with bacon. The right start for the day! Enough fuel to increase the Ulrich's Horn in 2.5 hours!"
