"A unique and special culinary experience! eating is delicious, prices are very reasonable, dishes are quite large, the service is super and there is much to choose! all the ingredients used are also referred locally. I can't stress enough how good this place is! it is from the city (schinznach village,) so that it is either with the car or to foot 20 minutes from the next bus stop in schinznach village. the restaurant shows its special history as a family business, so there are many beautiful different things that were collected by the years. it is also a popular place for local but not a tourist destination. Nevertheless, I would recommend making a reservation and planning before the time. it is worth visiting!"

"Once a year my former boss organizes a get together with his former direct reports. I was able to make it this year so I traveled from France to Olten. We met at some bar before we headed to Restaurant Salmen for an amazing dinner....Despite being Swiss, I gotten used to French prices so I found it very expensive but at the same time, I believe that it is for a Swiss restaurant of such quality a price that is ok. Given the quality of the food, it was more than worth it. I went for the set menu which included the starter, 2 main courses and a dessert for CHF 87.00. The salad with bacon and croutons was fantastic, the fish was moist but at the same time, cooked to perfection. The Swiss prime fillet was outstanding and cooked the way I wanted it. In Switzerland you do not need to be ashamed when you want it well-done (in France they look at you as if you were going to kill the cow again... . So a fantastic dinner, with great friends, in a great restaurant with very friendly and efficient service."
