We went there for SC Restaurants Week for fixed course dinner. It was casual and felt like a sports bar, the food was overall good, the each portion was very generous size, and the service was good. I liked Lobster bisque but some dishes need more flavor. View all feedback.
What Trevor Marshall doesn't like about Stonehouse Bar Grill Restaurant:
Service was so so, food was so so for the price.... definitely convenient to eat here if you're staying at the hotel (didn't wanna lose my parking spot by going to get food)... View all feedback.
I ordered twice from the restaurant. The first night I ordered a charcuterie board. It was supposed to come with artisan meats and cheeses, olives, seasonal jam, mustard, focaccia and crackers. It came out with deli cheese, sourdough, no olives, no jam, dried cranberries, some meats, tomatoes, sprinkled with six blue berries and three blackberries and one sliced strawberry. They also gave me olive oil and balsamic. It would have been nice to know that they did not have all of the ingredients. This is the absolute worst charcuterie I have ever had. Don’t waste your money here. I went back for more the next day to give them another chance with something. I ordered the pasta with Cajun chicken. The pasta was ok but the chicken was extremely salty. This place used to be good about 5 years ago, it has definitely gone downhill. I will not eat here again.
I don’t know where to start… this place is absolutely awful! It’s not a restaurant, it’s basically a small bar that says they serve food.. took forever for anyone to notice me, when they did they bring me a dirty greasy menu and the guy finally comes out to take my order and then rushed me stating they were closing soon and this was at 8:15, mind you… I was sitting there w no one to come take a drink order or even give me a menu for half an hour then I get rushed? I ordered a steak med rare, came out over well done and cut into thin slices?! Why?!! Also had some awful sauce on it that was just… really bad salad was limp old brown edged.. how is it they even call this a restaurant? I try to pay the for the “dinner” have the server, the one that rushed me after just showing up half hour after I was sitting there… gave him a 100 bill and then he says he doesn’t have change?!!! I’m definitely NOT going to give him a 40 tip for his extremely unprofessional attitude and “service” but I’m also not one to not give at least 20% even if they don’t deserve it so this is a Hilton and they can’t make change for my there after I get a horrible inedible dinner and nearly non existing service? The bartender wasn’t much help as I was sitting at a table not wanting to drink alcohol but just wanted dinner after driving a long haul and didn’t seem to care that no one was coming to take my order. It’s really… why are they here?!! Next morning in the breakfast room was much better but they were pretty slow too.. but at least they acknowledged me and food was better
You gotta try the hot honey wings perfect balance of sweet and hot, crunchy and tender
What a disappointing experience on all levels. We arrived at the “restaurant” for dinner and were told to seat ourselves. The room feels like you’re eating in a hospital cafeteria. It took 10 minutes for the server to come to our table and she says, “you two look like you know what you want.” I replied, “yes, we’d like to see some menus.” She grabs menus, hands them to us and walks away. No offer to grab us some beverages while we look over the menu. She just walked away. The menus were heavily soiled with grease and food. When she returned about 5 minutes later we ordered our drinks and the artichoke and chicken wing appetizer. They were out of the chicken wing app that we wanted so we settled on the other. When the appetizers arrived, the wings were actually quite tasty. However the artichokes were not seasoned at all, greasy and cold. We ordered our entrees, the filet and New York strip. They took over 20 minutes to arrive which surprised me because we were the only couple in the “restaurant” aside from another large table that hadn’t ordered any food yet. I had subbed fingerling potatoes for the fries with my New York strip. Both the potatoes and my steak came sliced. The potatoes were dry and hard, lacking butter or seasoning. My steak which I ordered rare was medium well. Perhaps that’s why it came sliced. They new it was overdone and sliced it to stop any further progression? The filet was cooked medium rare as ordered but looked unappetizing the way it was plated. The mashed potatoes lacked seasoning and the asparagus was limp and overcooked. My bf finished his filet but only a couple bites of the mashed potatoes. Two thirds of my plate was left when our server came by and I asked for the check. She didn’t ask if I wanted a box to go or question how our meal was. Yes, I’m aware I could have told her that my steak was way overdone and the potatoes were inedible. But honestly at that point I just wanted to get out of there. Waiting 20 minutes for them to try again wasn’t worth the additional already disappointing time there. We were never asked if we wanted refills on our drinks and only saw our server when necessary, no checkins. This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in quite sometime. With a bill over $100 we left unsatisfied. We will not return.
I ordered The Fresco burger and fries. The sourdough on the burger was toasted perfectly. The fries were crispy and hot. The staff was very friendly. Great experience all around.
