"Disappoint. at the visit of the eastern end of li we were delighted to taste this restaurant. as a restaurant owner and chef for 30 years I was pleased to see chateaubriand on the menu. the joy stopped when the dinner came for 2. what we received was 5 discs filet mignon on a cold plate, with the soße straight out of the refrigerator. it came with 1 order of the pommes. every chateaubriand I have ever eaten with kartoffels and carrots, and hot kies or demi glacé. when we informed the server, he said that they serve the sauce ice cream cold. everything I can say is euwwww. the flesh was tender when they like cold meat with a temperate sauce. all for $92.00! the manager I...read more"

"Ian and Suzanne bent over backward to make our wedding was a dream come true. We rented all rooms and the West Neck guesthouse. It felt intimate and the guests loved the decor, experience, convenience and “home away from home” feeling. I could not recommend this hotel more!"

"It just wouldn't be summer if I didn't pay at least one visit to this Shelter Island staple. Each year the chef reinvents some basic item into a melt in your mouth affair. This year it's the straciatella with asparagus. While burrata is on everyone else's menu everywhere, this is a scrumptious variation on the trend finished with a lemon zest that makes it sing. The mussels are always flavorful as is pretty much everything on the menu. We always share at least 3 or 4 items like the cevice that was so amazing fresh we tried to take our time and savor every bite. Make a reservation in advance soon. They roll up and out on Labor Day."

"Hubby and I had a late luncheon meal and it was sooo good! I had a burger, cooked to perfection and my husband had a spinach salad with broiled chicken that was great! Every time I eat here my meal is great! This place is a hidden gem, as are the owners! And Rose’s desserts are heavenly!"

"The hotel is charming and extremely clean which I appreciate. The customer service is amazing, I was greeted each time I ran into staff at the hotel. The room is spacious with a beautiful and calming atmosphere. They are dog friendly which is a major plus! They offer lots of yummy complimentary snacks like fresh orange juice, Starbucks coffee, ice cream bars and fresh breakfast pastries. It's located right in the middle of town with a convenient walking distance to all restaurants and shops. They also have bikes ready to rent for a ride along town. If you're in Greenport this is a great place to stay!"
