"If you are looking for the true French mountain restaurant, you have found it at La Bergerie!! From the warm welcome to the final great desserts, this is a perfect afternoon. We arrived to a warm greeting, the meal was delicious and the owner and the chef all came to say hi. The cooking is full of great, French tastes, the authentic meal choices make for the real experience, and prices are not crazy. Our dog was made welcome as were we. We highly recommend this restaurant!"

"We called into Seillans on the way back from a trip as the village had been recommended to us by a friend. However, it was a Wednesday in September and sadly the restaurant he had recommended was closed as were most of the other restaurants in the village. However, Chez Hugo was open so we went there. It was around 1.15 pm and there were people already seated; we asked the waiter for a table and he said there wasn't one available. We pointed to an empty table for 2 just outside the door and he grudgingly let us sit there. It took him ages to bring the menus and then a while to come back and take the order. The place was busy as it was the only one open. There were only 2 waiters and the one who served us seemed to be the one in charge. We ordered the lamb dish which was absolutely superb. We followed this up with desserts chocolate fondant and tart citron both of which were also superb. The food is faultless, tasty and well presented. Unfortunately the service didn't match. Our waiter was completely disinterested, made no attempt to interact with us other than to take the order and generally behaved as though the customers were an inconvenience. The other waiter, who brought us our desserts, appeared happier and was more convivial and talkative. The chef/patron here is producing wonderful food but is being let down by the poor service which is such a shame."
