"My wife and I were looking forward to visiting this cafe in view of the excellent reviews . However when we arrived we were approached by a chap , possibly the owner who, instead of offering assistance to get over the threshold step told my...wife and it would be better if we did not go in as it may be unsafe. We couldn't believe this man's attitude, offered no assistance and basically made us feel unwelcome. We left disheartened that such discriminatory people still exist , although we ended up having an excellent breakfast in the Coffee Grind around the corner. I have to say in all my years visiting older buildings which do not have purpose built disabled access this is the first time I have had such a negative unfriendly experience ."

"My partner took me here for my birthday on Friday 25th November we had a really lovely meal, the food was delicious and big in portions! The ribs in particular were good! The pub itself is beautiful with old beams and a lovely fireplace, very warming and welcoming! The staff were very friendly and attentive including the manager/owner. I will definitely be coming back, a lovely hidden gem!"

"Had dinner here for my husband's birthday. The food was so delicious, my mouth is watering just thinking about it now! Nicola was just so lovely and welcoming and made sure we were comfortable through the whole meal. The setting is beautiful and relaxing. Definitely somewhere I'd go again and highly recommend!! "We made a last minute family booking for 9, including 4 children aged from 4 9, for a Sunday. We were really impressed with how well we were accommodated. The children's menu had plenty of choice for the smalls, and they loved their ice creams that came with a toy to take away. I had the vegan roast, which may possibly be the best one I have tried to date. I was given the option of still having the non vegan friendly gravy, Yorkshires and parsnips, which I was very grateful for as a flexiterian I love gravy! The only thing that could have improved the experience was a vegan friendly option for these. They were busy, so service was a tad slow, but to be expected on a busy Sunday. All in all, a good experience and we would definitely return."
