"My wife and I were looking forward to visiting this cafe in view of the excellent reviews . However when we arrived we were approached by a chap , possibly the owner who, instead of offering assistance to get over the threshold step told my...wife and it would be better if we did not go in as it may be unsafe. We couldn't believe this man's attitude, offered no assistance and basically made us feel unwelcome. We left disheartened that such discriminatory people still exist , although we ended up having an excellent breakfast in the Coffee Grind around the corner. I have to say in all my years visiting older buildings which do not have purpose built disabled access this is the first time I have had such a negative unfriendly experience ."

"This place is just simply great, you're always met with a smile, consistently top quality coffee in quirky crockery with an ornate teaspoon sourced from many a gift shop. You might find yourself going in with a strong sense of will that you won't have a cake today but be warned you will and you will enjoy it. There is always a great selection of sweet savoury options and normally a soup too so if you happen to be at a loose end at lunch it's a great shout. I could list countless ways which show the owners give a sh*t, not just about their own business but the local community and the environment. You'll just have to visit to see what I mean."

"My partner took me here for my birthday on Friday 25th November we had a really lovely meal, the food was delicious and big in portions! The ribs in particular were good! The pub itself is beautiful with old beams and a lovely fireplace, very warming and welcoming! The staff were very friendly and attentive including the manager/owner. I will definitely be coming back, a lovely hidden gem!"

"Had dinner here for my husband's birthday. The food was so delicious, my mouth is watering just thinking about it now! Nicola was just so lovely and welcoming and made sure we were comfortable through the whole meal. The setting is beautiful and relaxing. Definitely somewhere I'd go again and highly recommend!!
