"There were just a handful of diners for our lunch time meal at the Clockspire which has a large open dining room. The cavernous space was cold and lacked atmosphere, exacerbated by so few fellow travellers. Staff were attentive without being intrusive. The kitchen offers fine dining and yet most of our dishes were over seasoned with salt very prominent. Portions were tiny and relatively expensive, as were wines. Overall the restaurant fails to offer value for money, and we are unlikely to return in the near future. "Unfortunately the staff have been rude every time I've visited. Whether it is on the phone or in person they are rude and aggressive. Unfortunately they don't have masses of competition which is why people have to put up with it. Over the lockdown period the way they speak to potential customers has been appalling."

"We came across this gem while on a bike ride. Not our local area so was a welcome stop off for some lunch. The food we both ordered was burgers. We agreed hands down one of the best burgers we've ever had. Amazing. Service: 5 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Luxury"

"Great vegan choices especially for sweets, percy black skirt! plus large night in options, soft drinks and beautiful selection of terrace items. usual own brand article, but good if a contract is in order. grateful for the public wc! park usually takes a bit geduld if they want to go outside, otherwise there is a lot in short stay opposite and the long stay right of it. make a good stop in front of a picnic at the river."

"We had evening meal here on a Monday night . We booked a table but there was plenty of room anyway. I found plenty of vegetarian options a but settled on the Sunday roast vegetarian version. The prices were about average for the area around £17 for a main course. The service was good and the staff were polite and cheerful. The pub has a thatched roof and the car park is large. I have no hesitation in recommending this pub for a good meal."
