The Islander - SHELTER ISLAND

What Bug Club likes about The Islander:
We arrived shortly before 3 and they were nice enough to let us in even though the kitchen was about to close. The absolute BEST burger I have ever had. I got the western burger and it was incredible. Service was friendly and fun. We loved everything about this quaint, local “un-Hamptony” spot. Brought me back to the good ole days of East End life. Too bad places like these are disappearing out east. View all feedback.

What Michael Moore doesn't like about The Islander:
I gave them 1 stars instead of 1 because they were one of the few places on the island open for lunch. That said, the fish and chips contained very little actual fish, and that cod was frozen rather than fresh. like the ferries, they only take cash. If you’re passing through, just plan to eat on either side of this island, or if not, skip this place. Bring lots of cash if you try it. View all feedback.
