"What a find! Stumbled across the Baron when driving near Shropshire and what a piece of luck that was. First up, the garden rooms are simply spectacular. A private haven, with glorious views and the attention to detail of everything in and around the accommodation is second to none. Then the food and drink again, simply top notch. Finally, the service the team were great so attentive yet hugely respectful of the fact that guests will want privacy. How we found this place, we don't know, but we'll definitely be back and if you want a stay away that is a unique treat, then I cannot recommend The Baron highly enough. We'll definitely be back!"

"Excellent free house with a great selection of ales. It also has a very nice outdoor area. One of the best Bishop's Castle pubs, don't miss it."

"Not a good experience unfortunately. The food and service is generally excellent and top notch from all,our previous visits. The burger was overdone and the Shepards pie with haggis was bland to,the extreme with no browning .and semi,warm veggies. Our order was,mixed,up with the one other customer in the restaurant which meant a long delay.. We did receive a professional apology.. The only explanation I can think of is that it was a Six Nations rugby Saturday and this may of contributed and the.Chef was having an off day.. If this had been our first visit we would not return."

"Lovely evening for my wife's birthday. Food was superb, varied and well balanced. Calm and unpretentious interior. I recommend the wine flight which is a good way of trying different wines and also enhancing each dish. Looking forward to coming again soon!"
