"We called to book at this restaurant and the staff let us know they were booked for the evening. We were tired and hungry from a long day of travel and touring, and I asked them for walk in recommendations, which they kindly provided. While I was looking into those options, the staff at Red Skye called back and had a cancellation. We hurried over and were warmly greeted by the two kindest servers we've ever encountered. We enjoyed appetizers of scallops and cullen skink soup, then main courses of Langoustines and Mushroom Risotto. My husband and I shared all of the dishes, and topped the meal off with a rhubarb/berry crumble with vanilla ice cream. The servers also provided friendly conversation and assisted us in the best route to our next stop. By far, one of the best meals and definitely the kindest, most fun staff of any restaurants we dined in. Highly recommend, but book ahead!"

"Stranded in Mallaig, waiting for our train connection. Good quality fish, daily catch! You have a lot of options to choose from. "Not sure if they had a different chef in as the other reviews are great, but food was over-microwaved and generally very poor tonight. Soup from a can, frozen veg instead of dried apricots and prunes with the lamb, peppers were almost fizzy, not sure what was going on. Really disappointing, hope they were just having an off night. Service was good though and the atmosphere decent. Food: 2"

"Had the most beautiful meal in claymore. the waiters were so friendly! they explained how they had just changed the hands, so they had some storage problems, but that did not affect the meal a bit. eating was absolutely beautifully recommended"
