"Waited a long time to get to Bruce's Cafe. Saw it on a lifestyle show, jotted down the details for the time I would get here- and thrilled to finally arrive! Awesome food, staff and great recommendations for lunch. The chai was delicious and I will definitely get a take away as well. Wish I was staying longer!"

"We, a group of went tonight at the place itself is very dark and there were a total of three tables. we have placed our orders for drinks and asked if we can place our food order. we were told no and that the other table had to order first as they were “a little slow”. we had escaped from arancini, filled mushrooms and the Kob-Lob (only garlic bread). the arancini was overboiled and burned near. there was a filled mushroom, and the coke store was good. we got extra cutlery, but no teller for our escape. we needed to eat serviettes because no one brought anything. the service was slow, although it was empty in the round. the staff often passed, not plates. we had to ask for water and generally did not take care of it. when our head came, each court was bad quality and was not worth the price. risotto- barely tasted and suppesalmon- served skin side down so that the skin was soggy. covered in seatang and drowned in sauce so that it could not really taste the fish. chips were pardoned and blande, salat was covered. stuffed chicken-salted, came in a buck and could not say what it was. starving chips and disappointing. battered scallops- served in a bowl on cold salad instead of on a plate. so the wild salad and the scallops hardly tasted anything. When we told the waiting staff about it, they immediately became defensiw and said they were talking to the cook. they took the net off the bill, but were rude throughout the whole interaction. overall the service was bad. they can stand behind the bar instead of circulating the room. we had to go to the bar to express our concern. many other places to go in burnie for this price with higher quality."

"Probably the best fish and chips I've had in my two years in Australia. I had the grenadier fish and chips which was excellent quality and the chips were close to English standard which I liked. No chicken salt nonsense just salt and vinegar. Would highly recommend stopping off for some and stroll along the water front."

"I had the special Cape Grim beef rib slow cooked in James Squire Copper Ale with aromatic spices, glazed with a herb and potato mash and roasted beetroot.
Sorry no photos of this one, it looked, smelt so delicious that I immediately savoured every last bite wanting to lick the plate clean.
The local Hellyers Road 12yo single malt also went down a treat.
The waterfront location is just spectacular and the staff friendly and accommodating.
Definitely my go to place anytime I travel to Burnie"

"Loved my meal The wine was amazing but as I was driving I only took a couple of sips The garlic bread didn't taste like garlic bread, could only taste the herbs really. The other meals did not go down very well. Not much flavour bit bland. Was very noisy in there due to some over the top ladies who love their wineWe had a mix up with our booking but the amazing staff let us sit in there and then. Was a great night and went home totally bloated and satisfied. Do stop in but book before heading there"
