I have to say faultless. What a wonderful place. Good food, I have friends who are vegetarian and what a good selection on the menu for them which is unusual. Staff so friendly and welcoming, good price for the meal you get. Staff very attentive...and if you ask for anything it is never too much trouble. What User doesn't like about Poet's Cafe At Helm Crag:
We did a circular walk from Grasmere village having seen a sign for Poets Cafe saying they are now open from the day before. When we arrived the lights were on and we went in and shouted to ask could we have some coffee and...cakes. The owner came through and said we are shut as they were having some work done. Enjoy a delicious lunch on the way to helm crag. the host were very friendly and let us welcome. we sat in the bay window and the look was great!
After a walk on the hell crag stopped. beautiful view and very peaceful.
Enjoy a sunday roast in the beer garden before they climb up helm crag. really fast and friendly service, even if there are many people eating. hope to return to the future and would highly recommend.
I came here on 2nd januar 2022 with family and friends. the staff was friendly, but the waiting period was long. we ordered chips and was surprised when they delivered what essentially cut a few kartoffels in quarters. it was too expensive, but it was good.
Fantastic place to enjoy a pint and some grub, after hiking up Helm Crag, or before if you are that way inclined.
