"Excellent fish chips, wonderful folks who served us. No issues with Halal as its fish and the batter is without beer. Had a good conversation with the kind folks at the shop and was surprised with a cup of hot chocolate, on the house! View is superb, location is good (fronting the Ambleside Pier)."

"Excellent food with great service. Small restaurant but definitely the best I have been to in Grasmere and it is many years since I have enjoyed a meal as much anywhere in the Lake District. We had the special starters. Crostini were wonderful and the starter portion tortelloni was excellent. My wife had hake which was perfectly cooked and I had the lamb which was great. And both were decent sized portions (unlike so many so called fancy restaurants). No hesitation in recommending."

"We didn’t stay over but went for the tasting menu, and it was absolutely delicious. Top work from the chefs and lovely staff. The portions were small, but that can be compensated for by the quality and originality of what was produced. The staff were attentive and the setting was glorious after a walk from troutbeck to Ambleside and return. Very well priced too. My wife and I loved it and many thanks to Lyn and her colleague (maybe Luke/Joe/Jack for their hospitality"
