"It's the 2nd time I have been with a family member for afternoon tea. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. It's nice to have a choice of a good selection of sandwiches. Scones were beautiful and a lovely selection of cakes too. We will definitely be back"

"We visited the North East for the first time in 4 years, and the first thing we did was drive straight to Colmans for Fish Chips! My family have been looking forward to visiting Colmans ever since our last pre-Covid visit. My late father introduced me to Colmans many years ago, and now no visit to the North East is complete without a visit to Colmans Fish Chips. Maria and her wonderful team are very friendly, welcoming and attentive, the restaurant is spotlessly clean, and the food is OUTSTANDING. Wild, fresh fish caught locally, cooked to perfection, and absolutely the best chips you could eat. I have travelled worldwide, and tried Fish Chips in many restaurants in many countries, (including Gordon Ramsays British Restaurant in Macau), but I can say with 100% honesty that Colmans is the best.....by a long way. We made time to visit twice during our one-week visit, they are that good. My family are already looking forward to visiting the North East again, and of course Colmans Fish Chips will be on the top of our 'to do ' list! Thank you Maria and all the team."

"Cafe Man is a local café at the end of a number of terrace houses in a very industrial area. From outside, it is the last place you expect to find a number of vegan options. A good selection also see photo for menu Jan 2022. The staff really knew everything about the requirements even to the extent they told me that I could not have a role because they had milk, but the sliced bread was milk free. I had a Vacon sandwich, with chips and a big house made folding jacket, which was nice. The other half had a Linda Mc fishcake. They even had vegan Mayo and salad cream! There is a separate fryer for the vegan stuff and they take gluten free seriously, even they even have a separate toaster. Impressive effort and knowledge. Many larger, more expensive places could learn a lot from the staff at Cafe One. So friendly. Parking is located on a residential street right in front of the house. There are not many vegan options here, so this was a very welcome find. Updated by previous rating on 2022 01 28"
