"Had a very nice breakfast here with colleagues on the way to a funeral. The food was beautifully done and the waitress was very helpful (not sure if her name but I think she had a South African accent). Lovely surroundings and cute tea cosy on the teapots!"

"Awesome food. 3rd visit last night and as always the food was sublime, unlike some other local restaurants where you take the quality of the food with the same chances as a coin flip. Rose and Mango does not disappoint. "My family of four went today for brunch and most of the menu was unavailable which is fine, we chose from the few available options. We then waited for 50minutes for our food. The chef started shouting loudly in front of everyone (including lots of children and babies): “I’ve had enough of this f ing place, it’s the same every f ing week” and so on. Our food turned up eventually and it was all stone cold. The pancakes were actually raw inside and inedible. I now understand why this was the only place for food in Saffron Walden without a queue round the block. We will not return."

"Used to be a good gastropub several years ago, but now it seems to be under different management and no way near as good. The roast pork on Sunday was good, but the waiting staff didn't really seem to know what they were doing. Mid priced wines by the glass were below average quality. Service was very slow and unprofessional we gave up without ordering dessert. Clearly not the fault of individual waiting staff, but poor management."
