This place is warm, welcoming, and relaxed. Had a dinner with family and food servings are huge. Food is delicious, and the seats are comfortable. The management and staff are funny, and gracious. I'll be sorry to leave as we are staying in the hotel that's attached. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Guv'nor Pub:
I've eaten here a couple of times now, each time more disappointing than the last. I wasn't a fan the first go around, but my husband really enjoyed it so we returned. This time, we ordered potato skins to start, first mistake. Sometimes less really...More View all feedback.
It's been my FAVORITE Saturday morning for 23 years. I wasn't in the rooms, but the restaurant has a fantastic, cozy feeling. And the staff is great. If you order the Toutons GET THEM DEEP FRIED!
The oldest Inn in North America. The rooms are small but very clean. The pub is very nice, but during my stay appeared among the staff. Once the meal has been served, the server did not reappear to see if you need something else during your meal like an additional drink or spice. The only server was also bartender, telephone ordering adviser, greeting, server and table cleaner, which only back to serve your table after completion of the meal. Menu points are good. The Inn offers discounts for medical guests and veterans . I was a day and night. I thought the Inn was quiet. Rooms have TV with full channel area, air conditioning, small microwave and refrigerator, coffee and tea machine with free coffee and tea. There are VLTs in the pub.
This place is not half bad. It's probably the best place to stay when you pass in St. John's. The Wi-Fi is pretty slow, but the facility is getting for itself. Rooms with thorough inspection are well kept clean. I stayed in two rooms on my trip there, because of an accident of two nights instead of three. The first room was spacious, well maintained and clean. The second room was much smaller but still clean; but there was a small (2-3 inches) percussion hole in the wall. If you want to stay here, think of the people who stay there, some smoke and spoon outside the night.
There is no better place to go in St. John's to get an authentic English pub dining atmosphere. On top of that, the food is excellent, well priced, and the service is friendly and prompt.
Love the pub atmosphere mouth watering food menu excellent service, my go to place when in St John's
