We had a great lunch at Pontoon on Sunday. Good food choices, great wine list and the service was excellent. This is currently my favourite lunchtime eating house in Melbourne. The atmosphere is always bubbly and the views are perfect, where else can you eat your lunch, sip on your bubbles and gaze out to sea. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Pontoon:
After hearing so much about the revamp of this Melbourne institution were looking forward to seeing if it delivered.Sadly we left disappointed the menu and the space downstairs has lost it identity.Trying to have a conversation over the table at 7 pm was of impossible is this place a housey bar club or a restaurant.Menu lacked any real highlights.Sadly won't be rushing back anytime soon View all feedback.
The food at this restaurant is incredible. We enjoyed the delicious not-so-flat bread and mussels, which we washed down with a few pints of Stone and Wood beer. The service was great and the atmosphere was perfect, with beautiful views.
This was the last night of our fantastic trip to Melbourne. The only positive thing to be said is the location is nice. Terrible food, staff with a poor attitude to customer service. The manager was aggressive and belligerent when we complained which was totally unnecessary as we were extremely polite to her. This was a terrible way to spend our last night and if we return to Melbourne, we shan't be visiting again.
We had a great evening, delicious food whilst watching the world go by! Many thanks to the staff and especially the duty manager who made our experience such a memorable one.
I had my birthday lunch here with my families and has a really awesome view of St Kilda but a little lacking on kids menu choices. Pontoon is great place a afternoon catchup with friends or after work drinks. Cater mainly for adults just due to no kids meals offered. Very vibrant, modern and relaxing
Disappointed with both our lunch choices. Caesar salad was average at best, very salty and basic presentation. Fish and chips consisted of a few over cooked chips which resembled Macains frozen crinkle cuts and a small piece of overcooked fish with darkened crunchy batter. I know it was the daily special but shouldn't be cutting back on quality as a trade off... Wont be rushing back. Shame, the view was amazing!
