"Enchanting location where you can eat various local dishes. The tasting of 5 raclettes with the consequent possibility of rearranging your favorites at will with a contrino of potatoes, pickled gherkins and pickled spring onions. The cheese is excellent and local to the canton. You can eat on site or buy the local cheeses offered and take them home. The service is relatively quick and the potions are good. I highly recommend this place for anyone who loves raclette or bedlam to try it for the first time."

"We went to Brasserie Le National for lunch today together with our 3 year old son. We had made a reservation and felt very welcome upon arrival. We were given a table next to the childrens play corner and the table was set with adapted cutlery for our little boy! We had a lovely lunch accompanied by a Humagne Rouge de Domaine Rouvinez. The game (gibier was delicious! What more could we wish for: delicious food, lovely Wines and a very happy toddler?! A few years ago we had already tasted Lionels creations at Le Relais Miégeois and today we were again nicely surprised. We Will definitely be back :"

"Beautiful day trip to the glorious blue green lake. Our intention was to visit Blausee also but that was completely full. However, Oeschinensee did nit disappoint. A picturesque gondola ride from Kandersteg followed by a gentle hike leads you to the beautiful lake. The weather was excellent when we went so it was a but crowded. Nevertheless, the views are stunning and the scenery magnificent. A wonderful day trip enjoying natural beauty."

"We had reserved a few nights ahead before our stay in Leukerbad. We were not staying at the hotel, but they happily took our reservation online. For starter, we had the smoked salmon with toast, horseradish, pickles, endives (see photo) which was elegantly presented with a plastic pipette to place your own balsamic vinegar. We had the half portion and that was more than enough as a shared starter for two (I think this is a seasonal special). For main, my wife had the handmade linguine with smoked haddock, olives, sun dried tomatoes. She enjoyed it but said it was too salty and oily. The dish was too large for her to finish. I had the entrocote steak which was well cooked to my specification (medium rare) and came with some well cooked pommes frites and a selection of veggies. It was about a 200g steak at average (high) Swiss prices. I very much enjoyed it. We also had two glasses of wine each, which were reasonable priced (with the Switzerland caveat again). I think they are just off a fine dining experience, but high-e nd mid range that won't break the bank. Service was absolutely fine, German, French, English. All up CHF 115 for everything for two people. Decor is modern but replicates a more traditional style. Book ahead and ask for a window seat for a great view of the mountains at sunset."
