We had a wonderful experience dining in the Bistro located in the charming orangery on the hotel grounds. The food was excellent, especially the lamb dish we both enjoyed. Our waitress, who was the only staff member in this separate area from the main restaurant, was calm, helpful, and attentive without being overly so. We can't wait to come back again. What Markeverett doesn't like about Roman Camp:
We reserved a table at the potting shed on a Tuesday night at18.30pm with two adults a 12 year old and a 5year old on a “school night” and did not leave until 20.35pm! The food was ok but the service was lethargic and forgetful. We only had a main course and two deserts, but they took over half an hour to arrive, as the chef had “lost our order”! Not good! Stumbled across this bistro a couple of years ago and found it delightful. Visited a couple of times last year and found the food still excellent and the hygiene measures first class. Now that we have a holiday home nearby we intend using the potting...
My friend and I had afternoon high tea , served on dinner plates not the picture experience shown , really nothing to write home about , priced at £29 per person I would say over rated ,
We booked a lunchtime slot for a birthday celebration and my wife enjoyed it so much she is already planning a return visit. The Potting Shed is a very short walk down the hotel gardens towards the river and is an unprepossessing building which some...
Stayed here for a weekend break and hotel and grounds were perfect. Very old property which retains its quirky charm. Immediate entrance inside hotel was welcoming when we arrived with a roaring log fire. The grounds were lovely too with flower beds and a river...
