I didn't expect to be able to come out for brunch on a Sunday morning of a long weekend, but our food arrived quickly. We chose to sit outside. I ordered the vegan breakfast sandwich, which was delicious! They also have a vegan option for their omelette. I highly recommend this place! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Green Goddess Cafe:
Food is good. Fresh ingredients. But be ready to wait a very very long time for food. Day I came, 6 people on staff. Not super busy, a few empty seats. Easily enough staff to handle demand in a well run shop. Took 45 minutes to prepare couple wraps. Rest of my order was pre prepared stuff they just had to gather Truly incredible. Fortunately I had time View all feedback.
They do not have it specifically on their menu, but they will divide a tofu scrambble for each of the discarded ice dishes. the huevos rancheros with tofu was delicious! also the brot is not vegan, but they will divide it for pita brot.
Good. a little expensive, but worth it. fun atmosphere.
No vegan breakfast options as of 2018, would not replace eggs with tofu for breakfast despite having tofu on a lunch item.
I've been to Green Goddess several times and I suppose my impression has been mixed. It has a bit of a hippy feel and can sometimes get quite crowded but it has some nice options. I've often had the Athena Scramble and occasionally the Poor Man's Scramble for breakfast (both vegetarian and good). Unfortunately, I tried the Garden Tofu Wrap (which I believe is the only vegan option for breakfast right now) one time and personally didn't enjoy it. My boyfriend really enjoys their traditional breakfast sandwich. The Goddess Grilled Cheese sandwich (vegetarian) is good as well. In terms of vegan options for sandwiches, there appear to be two choices at this time. They have large salads, smoothies, coffee drinks. I always find it to cost more than it seems it should so this is a downside for me. Tips are also expected. They will either call out the name when the order is ready (for you to pick up at the counter) or they may bring it to your table. It's definitely a popular choice in Stowe that I wish was more affordable.
This cozy little cafe is a very cute place to have a casual breakfast or lunch if you find yourself in Stowe. I specifically went here because I saw this place listed on Happy Cow and thus expected a good number of tasty vegan options to be available, sadly, this was not the case. The cafe is certainly vegan friendly and offers a decent number of vegan options, but not nearly enough for the way they advertise themselves as the veg spot of Stowe. The menu does have a good number of animal-based dishes, and a generous number of vegetarian ones, but as far as vegan options go, there are one or two wraps and a few salads. I had the tofu wrap for breakfast and it was good although nothing really impressive or particularly noteworthy. It was not overly greasy, the filling was well seasoned, and the salsa was mild and quite good. However, I do feel the price was a bit high for what I was receiving. Additionally, this is one of those places where you order and pay at the cash register, and we were standing there waiting for a good six minutes before one of the baristas deigned to look at us. And this was when the place was practically empty at 8am. Could certainly improve their service. Overall, I do recommend this as a good breakfast place for vegans in Stowe, since it might be hard to find better local options, but it is definitely not worth going out of your way to eat here. They didn't even have any vegan pastries. Disappointing.
