"Despite their website indicating that dinner is served until 8 PM, I encountered a disappointing situation when I arrived at 19:45. I was informed that, in reality, they close at 19:30. This inconsistency is a significant inconvenience for patrons who rely on the website 's information. When I suggested to the employee that they should update their website to reflect accurate hours, their response was rather unhelpful: 'Our schedule is on the door. ' While this may be practical for locals, it 's hardly a useful solution for travelers or those not residing in the area who rely on online information. This experience left me frustrated and inconvenienced, as it disrupted my plans. I strongly recommend that they rectify this issue promptly to avoid similar disappointments for future patrons."

"Visited Wednesday 17th May (closed Monday/Tuesday) to find that it was only open for take-away meals. The restaurant is due to open in July. However, we were invited inside to have a look. Much to our surprise, we were told that we could dine in the restaurant as we had travelled a long way, but I think it had something to do with my charming partner also being from Hong Kong. We had a very enjoyable meal served personally by the proprietors wife and enjoyed talking with her. The food is first class and I have no hesitation in saying that if you like Chinese food and are in Stranraer, then the Hong Kong City Restaurant is a must."

"Lovely surroundings and a wonderful greeting when you arrived ,Neave was welcoming and excellent at her job ,breakfasts was lovely nice ladies serving you and a lovely lady cooking it all very clean and served well ,The room Blue room Don't look behind the radiators or the cabinets or bed don't think it's been cleaned for months, bed so uncomfortable it made my body ache,cobwebs everywhere tap in bathroom didn't work such a shame,staff are so good at what they do place just needs refurbishment thanks again neave for making our stay your a star"

"Driftwood Cafe Bistro overlooking the pond in Agnew Park, Stranraer alongside the Marina came highly recommended. It's a very attractive spot with plenty of free parking nearby. Four of us had a lunch which was freshly prepared, nicely presented, tasted great, and was served with a smile. I'll add photos. I had no room for dessert which looked excellent, but we all agreed a return visit was a must. The owner gave us a warm welcome and was an absolute gem, much like the cafe. Highly recommended 5 eaterie. Tip: There's a children's play park alongside the cafe and a miniature railway, both of which seemed to be undergoing renovation ahead of the summer holidays."
